Paying For Your Treatment
There are a number of ways in which you can pay for treatment at Woodlands Hospital.
Self-Pay Packages
Patients who wish to self fund their treatment are welcome at the Woodlands Hospital. We do still require a letter of referral from your GP before a Consultant can see you for an initial appointment at the Woodlands Hospital. After your outpatient consultation, you will receive an invoice from the Consultant (or sometimes the Hospital invoices on their behalf). The fee depends upon the individual consultant but as a general guide, you can expect to pay between £100 - £120 for an initial consultation.
If you require further surgery, Woodlands Hospital can offer a number of “fixed price” treatments, which ensures that the price we quote you for your surgery is the total price you will pay.
Private Medical Insurance
Woodlands Hospital is recognised by all the major insurance providers, however we do advise you to liaise closely with your medical insurance provider to ensure that your policy does cover you for the treatment you require.
We recommend that prior to contacting the Woodlands Hospital for any medical or surgical treatment that you confer with your General Practitioner and obtain a formal referral. Your General Practitioner can aid in the selection of an appropriate consultant to treat your condition.
If after your initial appointment, you require surgery or further examinations; your consultant will make the necessary arrangements. You will be asked to complete a form with your policy details so that the Hospital can invoice the insurance company directly.
NHS Treatment
In addition to treating patients opting to self-finance their hospital treatments and those with medical insurance, Woodlands Hospital can now also be the choice of NHS patients who qualify for treatment within the independent sector under the NHS patient choice programme.
The NHS patient choice programme is a new service provision that is allowing patients to choose where they have their treatment and when they see a specialist at a time that is more convenient to them.
We advise patients to consult with their General Practitioner and if you do require a consultation with a specialist, your General Practitioner will ascertain if you are eligible to come to the Woodlands Hospital for your treatment.
NHS patients who are eligible to be treated at the Woodlands Hospital can expect the very same standards of professional care as our private patients. As a patient referred to us through the NHS, you will not be charged for the treatment you receive.
